Rain clouds hang overhead though
the sun shines elsewhere. Kids
throw rocks for something to do though
everyone knows that nothing pleases
better than a monkey, a friend
and peace of mind
awake under happy skies.

Poem #1

slow touch.

i want a love with a slow touch handling
the knife with delicate fingers that
grab my face and slam doorways
crawling on the ground thinking
a mother’s murder is happening somewhere but
interruptions of biting friends
who fight before dying ears ring
wide with sound offending the
split inside.
